The SE-200B Sonar Engine scans a forward- looking beam both vertically and horizontally over a 90 degree segment using a single dual axis thru-hull transducer. In the vertical mode the beam scans from the surface ahead to the bottom below, similar to the graphic at left. This mode is particularly useful navigating unfamiliar waters, detecting coral, rock pinnacles and other submerged objects directly ahead of the vessel.
